It has been a long time comin’, but it is nigh upon us:  The May 13th release of the Blame it on Gravity.  The Old 97’s latest CD hits the shelves and breaks the band’s 4 year silence (well, “CD Silence,” they have played shows and worked on side projects).  They have a new song or two up on their Myspace page to go along with this nice little video preview (below) of what we can expect from the Salim Nourallah produced disc.

UPDATE:  You can also GO HERE to sign up for updates and free downloads from the new album before it comes out (via Paste Magazine.com)…

Thanks Kelly,

These new songs sound unbelievable….I haven’t looked forward to an album this much since Van Halen II.

The video was great although, the clips with Salim(the producer) brought back visions of “This is Spinal Tap”.

Yeah, I agree. I could totally see the 97’s standing in front of Elvis’ grave trying to figure out the harmony to “heartbreak hotel”. I have some more stuff in the works to coincide with the release of the album, so i’ll keep you posted! Have a good one!

That is what Ken (lead gutiar) has told me also. He seems to be genuinley pumped about the album having a certain vibe that the last album or two didnt have.
