The Gobblers Knob

Every so often I like to do a bit of hodge-podge mish-mash as opposed to a long rant or blathering.  Lazy? Perhaps.  Inconsiderate? Likely.  Lots of juicy tid-bits?  Most definitely!

• I googled the name of Slobberbone/The Drams lead man Brent Best.  4 sites down the list this is what I found.  Even people in far-away lands love Brent!

• The new video for Ashton Shepherd’s “Taking Off This Pain.”  The 9513 boys and Chet Flippo tipped me to her, and I can’t wait ’til March 4th for the new album.

• More reviews come bearing good news for us Drive By Trucker fans!

• Two of my calendar marking, get to drinkin’ yearly festivals are getting their line-ups together.  Larry Joe Taylor’s Festival is always unreal and KHYI’s Texas Music Revolution@ Southfork Ranch boasts an awesome line-up and promises good times for all. While its not totally a “Texas Music” festival, this annual get-together is also worth marking your calendar for.

• Nashville by way of Houston singer/songwriter Mando Saenz will be making some appearances throughout his home state over the next couple of weeks.  Below is a clip of my favorite song of his.  “Seven Dollars” will be on his Feb. 5th release Bucket
